The IDeAs Z² Design Facility incorporates a full complement of high-energy performance concepts in an elegant, comfortable and high-functioning design. The building is designed to produce more electric energy than it consumes via its rooftop solar panels, and to have no reliance on fossil fuels for electricity, heating or cooling. Estimated energy consumption is approximately 60% below ASHRAE 90.1. It’s our hope to set a new standard for sustainably built commercial structures to be studied, copied and surpassed by other building teams across our country and the world.
